World Peas And A Vision Come True

Last year, around this time, I attended WPPI's annual conference. ( For those of you who don't know, WPPI stands for Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.)  While I was there, I went to an incredible night of fun, inspiration and education that was Photographer's Ignite. ( Ignite presenters share their personal and professional passions, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of just five minutes. ) I remember thinking as I left the program that evening that it would be so much fun to be up on that stage...

If this was a film (and yes, I do think that way sometimes - complete with soundtrack) this would be the part where you would see me leaving Vegas on a plane thoughtfully staring out of the window and then various exteriors and interiors of a passing year in my life and the introduction of a new character ALI ANDERSON and then scenes of a growing friendship between the two of us.  The voiceover would go something like this:

LISA (V.O.)
I left Las Vegas incredibly inspired and as the year passed the thought of being a part of Photographers Ignite was never far from my thoughts.
Which brings me to my friend, Ali.  You know the kind of person that raises everyone's IQ at least a few extra points the moment they enter a room?  That's Ali.  She really is amazing, talented photographer and writer and she thinks I'm funny - which makes her bonkers or brilliant or maybe a little of both.  So, I was absolutely thrilled when she said yes to my proposal of submitting to Photographers Ignite together...

Aaaand that's how it went in real life...more of less...:-)

Here is the submission we sent in:

Now here is the coolest part (I mean, I couldn't have written it better if I'd tried) -  we were chosen to be a part of this year's Photographers Ignite program on March 12, 2013 in Vegas, baby!!!!

Wooohooo!!!  We are so excited and thrilled and honored to be presenting alongside some of our industry's most talented and well-known photographers and motivators.

For sure I will write about the experience - can't wait to share.  For now - got to get to work on the presentation because it is only a little over a month away...eep!

Much love and light,
Lisa

P.S.  This is the part where the credits roll and they show the outtakes (my favorite part)...
